THE SOCCER PARENTS FAIR PLAY CODES

  1. Encourage your child to play by the rules of the game and exhibit good sportsmanship.
  2. Show your appreciation of volunteer coaches and officials.
  3. Teach your children to respect decisions by officials.
  4. Never ridicule or yell at your child for making a mistake.
  5. Teach your child that honest effort is as important as winning.
  6. Be lavish with praise when your child learns a new skill and practices fair play.
  7. As spectators, applaud all good plays - both your teams and the opponent’s team.
  8. Actions speak louder than words – let your behaviour set a good example for your child.
  9. Remember that children play for their fun and enjoyment, not ours!
